Bound notebook containing the record of 1,515 deliveries performed by L.C. Paine between 1811 and 1856. Paine records the patient's name, place of residence, date of delivery, gender of child, and whether it lived or died. He also indicates the various kinds of preternatural deliveries with symbols (key on leaf [9] verso).

Paine was a physician, probably from N.Y. (State). Beaumont practiced in Plattsburgh (N.Y.), 1815-1819, before moving to Mackinac Island (Mich.).
